Nerious Joseph was a reggae singer born on May 12, 1962, and he passed away on July 11, 2023. He first emerged on the reggae scene in 1979 as the lead singer of the roots band Coptic Roots, releasing his debut single "Roots & Culture." After touring with the band, he signed with London-based Fashion Records, where he achieved his first number one hit with "Sensi Crisis," followed by "Special Lady" and "Danger Man." His debut album, "Love's Gotta Take Its Time," included these hits along with the single "Move On Up." In the late 1980s, he toured extensively in Europe and the Caribbean, supporting renowned artists such as Bunny Wailer, Dennis Brown, and Chaka Demus & Pliers, while also headlining tours in Turkey and elsewhere. After a hiatus, he recorded with Saxon Records in the early 1990s, releasing hit singles like "Shouldn’t Touch It," "Wonderful Feeling," and "Giving All My Time." In 1996, he collaborated with the reggae supergroup "Passion," resulting in the National Chart hit "Share Your Love" on Charm Records.
