Neşe Karaböcek, born Neş'ecan Göktürk on April 1, 1947, in Istanbul, is a prominent Turkish singer known for her significant contributions to Turkish Arabesque music. She grew up in Ankara from the age of 2 1/2 and began her artistic journey at the age of 5 by performing in the play "Karaböcek," which inspired her stage name. Alongside her older sister Tezcan, she formed the duo Ankara Karaböcekler, achieving their first success in 1953 with a record featuring two folk songs. Following her sister's marriage, Neşe pursued a solo career, gaining widespread recognition with her breakthrough single "Artık Sevmeyeceğim" in 1968. Throughout her career, she has earned multiple Gold and Platinum records and has starred in 11 films. Neşe was married from 1964 to 1974.
