NEU! is a German krautrock band formed in Düsseldorf in 1971 by two members after their split from another group. The band's albums were produced by a notable figure regarded as the group's "hidden member." Although NEU! had minimal commercial success during its existence, they are now considered one of the founders of krautrock and have had a significant influence on various subsequent rock, post-punk, and electronic music artists.
