Neue Grafik is a composer, producer, and instrumentalist known for his distinctive blend of jazz, house, and hip hop, infused with elements of African heritage, Parisian roots, and London sounds like broken beat and grime. He has gained recognition through releases on labels such as Rhythm Section, 22a, CoOp Presents, and Wolf Music. His introduction to the vibrant community at Total Refreshment Centre (TRC), a hub for London's jazz scene, occurred during an after-hours jam. TRC founder Lex Blondin recognized Neue Grafik's exceptional compositions, leading to the formation of the Neue Grafik Ensemble. This band, featuring Neue Grafik on piano, Rhodes, and synths, along with Emma-Jean Thackray on trumpet, Dougal Taylor from Vels Trio on drums, and Matt Gedrych from MaddAddam on bass, performed their debut gig at TRC just a week after their first rehearsal. Their collaborative efforts culminated in the EP "Foulden Road," released in 2019, which showcased contributions from artists like Nubya Garcia, Brother Portrait, and Allysha Joy.
