Nev Cottee is a musician who first emerged in 2013 with his debut album 'Stations', produced by Mason Neely. The album received critical acclaim for its lo-fi, psyche-inspired songs. His follow-up, 'Strange News From The Sun', was released in 2015 on the UK label Wonderfulsound, showcasing arrangements that swell and swirl with orchestral flourish, channeling influences from Lee Hazlewood and Ennio Morricone. Cottee's third album, 'Broken Flowers', released in 2017, is a deeply cinematic and string-soaked work that captures the atmosphere of the rain-drenched streets of Manchester and the sun-beaten canyons of America, evoking the mythical landscapes of Sergio Leone and Wim Wenders films. In 2019, he released his fourth album, 'River’s Edge', where he reflects on his musical journey, stating, "After all these years it feels like I finally know what I'm doing." The album draws inspiration from the mythical LA music scene but is viewed through an English lens, featuring a pastoral quality in its songs that explore hidden places in the English countryside. Cottee aims for his music to provide a sense of understanding amidst the chaos of the world, inviting listeners to join him in a place of repose.
