New Birth is an American funk and R&B band that originated in Detroit, Michigan. The group was formed by former Motown songwriters, producers, and music industry veterans. New Birth emerged from several smaller groups, including a quartet of male singers and a quartet of female voices, along with later members from other ensembles. Over time, these various members united to create one comprehensive group known as The New Birth. The name symbolizes a new sound and a fresh beginning in their musical journey.
