The New Blockaders, often referred to as TNB, emerged in the early 1980s with their debut album 'Changez Les Blockeurs' (1982), which has been recognized as 'The first true Noise record of the modern era' by Ron Lessard of RRRecords. Their subsequent releases, 'Live At Morden Tower' (1983) and 'Pulp' (a collaboration with David Jackman / Organum, 1984), have also left a significant mark on the genre, influencing prominent Japanoise artists such as Merzbow, Hijo Kaidan, Incapacitants, and Hanatarash, among many others. TNB's impact extends beyond the Noise genre, inspiring numerous Noise Rock, Noisecore, and Thrashnoise artists. It is challenging to find any Noise artist or group that hasn't been influenced by The New Blockaders in some capacity. Classified variously as Neo-Futurist, Industrial, and Post-Industrial, TNB prefers to reject all genre labels. Their music, or more accurately, their anti-music, is characterized as Pure Sonic Nihilism, as they eschew not only music but also art and anti-art. Collaborations with notable artists such as Nurse With Wound, Coil, Organum, Das Synthetische Mischgewebe, Kommissar Hjuler, Raymond Dijkstra, Gosplan Trio, The Haters, Merzbow, and Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth
