Nicki French, born in Carlisle, England in 1964, is a British dance singer renowned for her 1994 dance version of Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart." This hit reached the Top 2 in the US and the Top 5 in the UK, and it also topped the charts in several countries including Japan, Canada, Spain, and Brazil. French represented the United Kingdom in the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest held in Stockholm. She has sold over 5 million copies of her music. Her follow-up single, "Don't Play That Song Again," peaked at number 34 in the UK charts in 2000. Other singles include "For All We Know" (UK chart position 42 in 1995), "Did You Really Love Me" (UK chart position 55 in 1995), "Is There Anybody Out There?"
