Nicola Arigliano was an Italian singer born on December 6, 1923, in Squinzano, Lecce, Puglia, Italy. He passed away on March 30, 2010, in Calimera, Lecce, Puglia, Italy. Arigliano began his career performing in nightclubs in Northern Italy before being discovered by a TV producer, leading to his debut in variety shows. His first records were released in 1956, primarily featuring Neapolitan songs recorded for Italian RCA. With the transition to 45rpm records under the Columbia label, he achieved his first success with "Simpatica." In 1958, he participated in "Canzonissima" and gained further recognition in a show hosted by Lelio Luttazzi, where he was a regular guest alongside Mina. The theme song of the show became a hit, recorded by both artists. A passionate jazz enthusiast, Arigliano participated in festivals and performances, showcasing his crooner style. His notable hits from this period include "Un giorno ti dirò," "Amorevole," "I sing ammore," "My wonderful bambina," and "I love you forestiera." In 1963, he starred in the Saturday night show "Il cantatutto" alongside Milva and Claudio Villa, where they exchanged their repertoires and performed comedic sketches.
