He co-founded the band DARKSIDE in 2011 and has released music under various aliases, most notably Against All Logic. Jaar established two record labels: Clown & Sunset (2009–2013) and another since 2013. In 2008, the same year he enrolled in college, Jaar presented his 12" debut on a Brooklyn-based label. He graduated in 2012 with a degree in comparative literature. In addition to producing several studio albums and numerous EPs, Jaar composed film soundtracks for the 2015 crime drama that won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, the 2019 film Ema, for which he earned the "Best Score" award at the Miami International Film Festival, and the Georgian-French drama "Beginning" (2019) by Déa Kulumbegashvili.
