**Bio: NII Cosmo** NII Cosmo, originally known as НИИ Косметики, is an indie band that emerged from a gathering in the basement of the famed Bulgakov House, as referenced in "The Master and Margarita," in 1985. The group is led by Doctor Mephodiy, who previously worked as a vocalist and songwriter for bands such as Begemot, Opasnoe Mesto, and Metalolom. The band's creative philosophy centers around the protection of human rights, mocking hypocrisy, and expressing disdain for cruelty towards all living beings. Through ironic portrayals of the naivety of their song's characters, they aim to warn listeners against gullibility and stereotypical views shaped by society. Until the end of 1988, NII Cosmo remained deeply underground and was blacklisted as a prohibited group in the USSR due to their refusal to compromise and conform. The band is known for blending music with theatricality, often featuring more showmen than musicians in their performances. They are recognized as pioneers of new wave glam rock in the USSR, with Doctor Mephodiy's image shocking unsuspecting concertgoers. From 1988 to 1990, NII Cosmo gained prominence with their concert-theater program "Russian Erotica." Following this period, Doctor Mephodiy moved to Amsterdam to work on program productions while occasionally returning home to attempt to revive NII Cosmo. The English name "NII Cosmo
