Nikki Sudden (1956–2006) was an English singer-songwriter and guitarist best known as co-founder of the post-punk band Swell Maps, whose experimental sound helped shape the UK’s late-1970s underground scene. After the band’s dissolution, Sudden pursued a prolific solo career and formed The Jacobites with Dave Kusworth, blending raw rock ‘n’ roll energy with romantic, Stones-inspired swagger. His music combined lo-fi charm, poetic lyricism, and a deep reverence for early rock traditions, earning him lasting recognition as an influential cult figure in alternative rock.
