Nina Van Pallandt, born Nina Magdelene Møller-Hasselbalch in 1932 in Copenhagen, Denmark, is a Danish singer and actress. She is best known for being part of a calypso-inspired folk duo with her husband, Frederik, Baron van Pallandt, whose name she adopted. The duo achieved international success and appeared in the movie "The Melody Of Love" alongside Louis Armstrong. They married in 1960 and had three children before divorcing in 1975. Prior to this marriage, she was married to a Danish-English singer and actor. In 1969, she contributed the song "Do You Know How Christmas Trees Are Grown?" to the James Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." There are rumors that she also played a part in Peter Sarstedt's UK #1 hit "Where Do You Go Where Do You Go To (My Lovely)," with some theories suggesting she was the mysterious Marie-Claire in the song. As an actress, Van Pallandt appeared in several Robert Altman films during the 1970s, including "The Long Goodbye," "A Wedding," and "Quintet." In the early 1980s, she appeared in "American Gigolo" and "Cutter's Way."
