The Nite Hawks were an early 1960s musical group that initially played rhythm & blues and doo-wop to earn money, as jazz artists were not well-compensated at the time. They released one 7" single on Del-Fi Records under this name. After transitioning to focus solely on jazz, they released their first 7" on Pacific Records under the name "Night Hawks," featuring the tracks "Bunny Ride" and "Sweenie Lester," before ultimately changing their name to the "Jazz Crusaders."
