Nito Nunes, born in 1941, was a prominent figure in popular Angolan music during the early 1960s. His significant breakthrough came in 1968 with the release of his first album alongside the Conjunto "Dimba Dia Ngola." He is also known for his work "Kassele Cuca," which honored Ngola Kiluanji and is regarded by the National Union of Artists and Composers (UNAC) as "a true relic." This piece was later reinterpreted by the Korean Democratic Republic Symphony Orchestra in the 1970s. Nito Nunes passed away due to high blood pressure on December 4, 2012, and was laid to rest at the Sant'Ana Cemetery in Luanda.
