NO UNAUTHORIZED was a French band from Melun, a suburb of Paris, active from 1980 to the early nineties. They were a prominent presence in the tape wave scene, with nearly one hundred appearances on various labels, including Bain Total, Insane Music, EE Tapes, and V.I.S.A. Their music is characterized by minimal synth pop infused with clever and playful French lyrics. The band consisted of Catherine on vocals, percussion, and synthesizer; Christian on drums, drum machine, bass, percussion, and synthesizer; Marc on guitar and bass; Michel on synthesizers, tapes, guitar, ambiance, and electronic devices; and Veronique on vocals and percussion.
