Nona Hendryx is an American singer born on October 9, 1944, in Trenton, New Jersey. She began her recording career in 1962 with a vocal group. After a member left, the remaining trio changed the group's name and transformed into futuristic disco-funk divas. Hendryx wrote several songs for the band before their breakup in 1976. She then pursued a solo career, releasing her self-titled debut album in 1977. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with a diverse range of artists.
