Nonato Buzar was a Brazilian composer, arranger, acoustic guitarist, singer, and record producer, born on August 26, 1932, in Itapecuru-Mirim, Maranhão, Northern Brazil. He began his artistic career in the 1950s, performing at nightclubs such as Little Club and Bottle's in Beco das Garrafas, Rio de Janeiro. His first television appearance was on the show hosted by Córis Luna Freire on TV Continental. His composition "Guerra à bossa" was first recorded by Paulo Silvino. In 1965, he wrote the liner notes for Elizeth Cardoso's album "400 anos de samba," released in honor of the IV Centenary of Rio de Janeiro. He was a founding member of the influential band A Turma da Pilantragem, active in 1968 and 1969. As a music producer, he worked with PolyGram (1969-1971) and RCA Victor, producing albums for artists like Jair Rodrigues, Regininha, Sílvio César, and Wilson Simonal, among others. Buzar participated in various music festivals, including the Festival da Música Popular Brasileira and the Festival Internacional da Canção.
