Noor Jehan, born on 21 September 1926 in Kasur, Punjab, British India, and passed away on 23 December 2000 in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, was one of the most influential singers of her time on the Indian subcontinent. Honored with the title Malika-e-Tarannum, meaning "The queen of melody," in Pakistan, she recorded approximately 10,000 songs in various languages. Notably, she was the first to record a Qawwali in female voices in South Asian films.
