Nora Jones is an American singer-songwriter, pianist, and actress, born on March 30, 1979. She is the daughter of an Indian sitar player and has various notable relatives, including being a niece and cousin to several musicians. In 2002, she launched her solo music career with the release of her acclaimed album "Come Away with Me," which is a fusion of jazz, pop, and country music. The album was commercially successful, certified diamond in 2002, and sold over 26 million copies, earning her five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year and Best New Artist. Jones' subsequent albums, "Feels Like Home" (2004), "Not Too Late" (2007), and "The Fall" (2009), all achieved Platinum status, selling over a million copies and receiving positive critical reception. In 2007, she made her film debut in "My Blueberry Nights." Her fifth studio album, "Little Broken Hearts," was released on April 27, 2012. Throughout her career, Jones has won nine Grammy Awards and was recognized as Billboard magazine's 60th-best-selling music artist of the 2000–2009 decade. She has sold more than 16 million albums in the U.S. and over 36 million records worldwide, establishing herself as one of the best-selling artists of all time and being named the top jazz artist of the 2000–2009 decade by Billboard.
