Norman Blake is an American folk artist and bluegrass guitarist, born on March 10, 1938, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is the husband of artist Nancy Blake. In addition to his solo career, he has collaborated with Nancy Blake and The Rising String Fawn Ensemble. Throughout his career, he has worked with notable artists such as John Hartford, Tony Rice, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Steve Earle, Kris Kristofferson, Ralph Stanley, Joan Baez, and Robert Plant-Alison Krauss. Norman Blake also appears on the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band album "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" and the soundtrack for "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"
