NST Cophie was an Ivorian songwriter born on November 11, 1955, in Dimbokro, Ivory Coast. He passed away on March 8, 2020, in New York, United States. Cophie was the creator of the musical style "Zôgôda - Le Zopio Dance" and was the half-brother of another artist. He founded his first band with Desire Gadeau in 1968, followed by another group called The Husband Mackers in 1970. In 1976, he moved to France to perform with Bozambo, a new jazz-rock band. Over the years, he played with notable bands such as N'Bamina and Osibisa, as well as numerous artists. Cophie released his first solo album four years after his move to France.
