Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was a renowned Pakistani musician, primarily known for his qawwali, a form of Sufi devotional music. Born on October 13, 1948, in Faisalabad, Pakistan, he was a master of vocal techniques and is often referred to as one of the greatest qawwals of all time. He gained international fame for his powerful voice and ability to convey deep spiritual emotions through his music. Nusrat collaborated with various artists and contributed to numerous soundtracks for films, expanding the reach of qawwali music beyond South Asia. He passed away on August 16, 1997, but his legacy continues to influence musicians worldwide.
