Ø was a Finnish electronic musician, composer, and producer, born in 1963 in Helsinki, Finland. He passed away on April 12, 2017, in France, at the age of 53. Ø began his musical career by playing electronics and drums within the early Finnish industrial and noise scene. In 1993, he co-founded the minimal electronic group Pan Sonic with Sami Salo and another member. Salo left the group in 1996, and Pan Sonic continued as a duo until disbanding in 2009. Afterward, Ø established a successful solo career, often collaborating with experimental French composer.
