O.C. Tolbert was an American soul artist born on July 11, 1944, in Selma, Alabama. He began his career in 1966 and moved to Detroit, Michigan, in 1967 in search of fame, but did not achieve much success initially. In 1970, he met a producer and released his first album. O.C. Tolbert was the son of an Alabama preacher, who gave him the nickname "O.C." because he believed he acted like his brother, Arthur's uncle. He passed away in 1997 due to a heart attack. He was married.
