Oceanliners was a soul band from Miami, Florida, active during the 1970s and 1980s. The group featured Jerome Smith on guitar, Robert Johnson, also known as Shotgun, on drums, and Anthony Turner on bass. The horn section was led by Ronald Smith, Jerome's brother, who played trumpet. Oceanliners served as Betty Wright's first show band and were the youngest artists produced by Willie Clarke. They played on numerous hits for T.K. Records and eventually became known as The Sunshine Band, associated with KC and The Sunshine Band fame.
