Ochre is the musical project of Christopher S. Leary, an artist based in Newcastle, UK. Since 2001, he has been creating utopian and melancholic music, releasing albums on labels such as Toytronic, Benbecula Records, and Shipwrec. The name "Ochre" was initially chosen for Leary's academic work while studying audio production at Newcastle College, inspired by "Oaker," the name of a street in Manchester where he spent his early childhood. Leary also holds a Master's degree in music.
