Of Montreal is a band from Athens, Georgia, led by Kevin Barnes, the band's only constant member. Their recorded material can be divided into two distinct periods. In their early work, they focused on 1960s-tinged pop and psychedelic elements, showcasing Barnes's unique lyricism. In more recent years, the band's style has evolved to incorporate a mixture of electronica, funk, glam, and afrobeat, influenced by artists such as Prince and David Bowie.
