Of the Wand and the Moon is a Danish neofolk project founded by Kim Larsen in 1998. The music is heavily influenced by early dark folk acts like Death In June, characterized by melancholic acoustic sounds and often featuring various guest musicians. The lyrics are primarily in English and Danish, with prominent pagan and runic themes reflected in the music, artwork, and lyrics. This places the project alongside other acts on labels such as Hau Ruck! and Eis & Licht within the neofolk aesthetic. In 2005, Kim Larsen established his own German-based label, Heiðrunar Myrkrunar, to release future projects.
