Omar Souleyman is a Syrian vocalist born in 1966 in the village of Tell Tamer, located in the north-east of Syria. He began his career as a part-time wedding singer in the al-Hasakah Governorate. Souleyman's music is influenced by the culturally diverse community he comes from, which includes Kurdish, Ashuri, Arabic, Turkish, and Iraqi elements. He is known for his performances that blend dabke, keyboards, and electronic beats with his distinctive vocals.
