Omega Tribe is a melodic anarcho-punk band that originated in New Barnet, London, England, UK, in the summer of 1981, initially forming under the name Deadly Game. They changed their name to Omega Tribe before their first gig at the Monkfrith Boy's Club that same year, featuring the lineup of Hugh Vivian (ex-Comatose) on guitar and vocals, Daryl Hardcastle (ex-Woosh!) on bass, and Pete Shepherd on drums. Their second performance was a support slot for The Meteors at the 100 Club in London. In March 1982, they recorded their first demo, which led to the selection of the song "Nature Wonder" for a compilation. Later that year, they recruited Pete Fender, the son of a frontwoman, on guitar, having met him through Daryl's fanzine "The Realities of Society." With this new lineup, they recorded their first EP, "Angry Songs," produced by Fender and another collaborator, which was released in April 1983 and performed well on the Indie Chart. Their follow-up LP, "No Love Lost," was recorded for a modest £300 at Heart and Soul studio. The band experienced lineup and direction changes over the next year.
