Open Road is a folk rock, psychedelic rock, and classic rock group from the United Kingdom. After parting ways with Mickie Most in 1969, Donovan signed with Dawn and recorded an LP in 1970. Following the recording sessions, he performed live concerts with his new band, which he named Open Road. After performing in Europe and at the Isle of Wight festival, Donovan left the band the same year. Drummer John Carr and bassist/guitarist Mike Thomson continued as Open Road, recruiting guitarist Barry Husband and keyboardist Simon Lanzon. The quartet signed with the newly formed Greenwich Gramophone, a sublabel of Chapter 1, and began recording the album "Windy Daze" in April 1971. They recorded a second album in 1972, which remained unreleased until 2021.
