Ophiuchus is a folk rock group from Wiltshire, England, formed in 1986 by guitarist Jon Cousins and saxophonist Pat D’Arcy. The band featured a diverse lineup, including bassist Simon Cousins, melodeon player Pete Causer, and drummer Myke Vince. Known for their whimsical and literate style, Ophiuchus crafted "rural English rock" that predated the "crusty" label associated with bands like The Levellers. They released the double A-side single "Serpent And The Bearded King"/"Song For Pym" on their own label, Ophiuchvs Recordvs, and an album on Liverpool's Probe Plus label. The band disbanded in 1990 but reunited in 2010 for a series of concerts, including an appearance at the 40th anniversary of Glastonbury Festival.
