Orchestre Afro-Negro was a student orchestra founded in September 1964 in Brussels by François Bikoko, who also served as the guitar soloist. The ensemble featured a diverse lineup, including Philippe Kabuiku as the singer, maracas player, and conductor, alongside vocalists Mike Macauley, Antoine Tonio Diambu, Antoine Bokito Tony Dee, and Denewade Tifour. Julien N'damvu Douglas played guitar, while Boniface Matingu contributed clarinet. The rhythm section included Henri Pongo Existo on tumbas, Henri Milliex on bass guitar, and Jean Nguz’a-Karé-I-Bond on drums. Additionally, Guy Macole provided vocals and played drums, and Michel Galo played guitar. Philémon Bongo, known as L'ombre, also contributed on guitar.
