The Oriental Brothers International Band was a renowned Igbo highlife band from Nigeria, based in Owerri, that gained popularity over several decades. Known for their powerful lyrics, often featuring proverbs and dedications to special individuals in Nigeria, the band showcased exceptional instrumental talent, particularly through the lead guitar and the conga performances. The original lineup included Godwin "Kabaka" Opara on rhythm guitar, Ferdinand "Dan-Satch" Chukwuemeka Opara on lead guitar and bass, Christogonus "Dr. Sir Warrior" Ezewuiro Obinna on vocals, Livinus "Akwịla" Alaribe on congas and maracas, Fred "Ichita" Ahumaraeze on drums, Aloysius Anyanwu, Charles Boumda, and Nathaniel "Mangala" Ejiogu, who passed away shortly before the band rose to fame in the early seventies. The band initially thrived under the leadership of Godwin Kabaka Opara until he departed in 1977, leading to Ferdinand "Dan-Satch" Opara taking over. In 1980, both Sir Warrior and Dan-Satch left, resulting in the formation of two separate entities: the Oriental Brothers International Band, led by Dan-Satch, and Sir Warrior & his Oriental Brothers International Band. In 1978, Ichita and Akwịla also left to establish their own band, while Aloysius Anyanwu pursued a different project
