Oriental Sunshine was a Norwegian psychedelic acoustic trio formed in Bergen and Skien, active from 1968 to the early 70s. The group consisted of Nina Johansen (vocals, acoustic guitar) from Skien, Rune Walle (sitar, vocals), and Satnam Singh (flutes, sarod). Johansen and Walle initially met at Manger College and shared a passion for British and American folk-inspired rock music, drawing influence from artists such as the Incredible String Band, Fairport Convention, Jefferson Airplane, and Joan Baez, as well as Eastern religions. In autumn 1969, they added Singh, an Indian student from New Delhi, which enhanced the group's ethnic authenticity. Their sole album, "Dedicated To The Bird We Love," was recorded in 1970 with producer Mikkel Aas. The trio was joined in the studio by Helge Grøslie (organ), Sture Janson (bass), and Espen Rud (drums), but they disbanded prior to the album's release.
