Orlando 'Cachaito' López was a Cuban bass player, born on February 2, 1933, in Havana, Cuba. He passed away on February 9, 2009, in Havana. Known as 'the heart-beat of the Buena Vista Social Club,' he was the son of and nephew of notable figures in music.
