Os Cariocas is a Brazilian music group that began their career in the 1940s, before the emergence of Bossa Nova. From 1963 onward, they embraced the Bossa Nova aesthetic, contributing to the popularity of Brazilian music classics such as 'Tem Dó', 'Tim-Tim-Por-Tim-Tim', 'Ela É Carioca', and 'Pra Que Chorar'. Over the years, the group experienced nine different formations. They ceased to exist following the death of one of their key leaders, Severino Filho, in 2016.
