Eumir Deodato is a versatile musician known for his extensive work in the 60s and 70s, contributing to numerous albums in various capacities. He is a key member of Os Gatos, a group that released the album "Aquele Som dos Gatos" in 1966, produced by Dori Caymmi. The album features slow instrumental versions of Bossa Nova standards and showcases Deodato's talents alongside notable musicians such as Paulo Moura and Meirelles. The original line-up of Os Gatos includes Eumir Deodato on piano, Durval Ferreira on guitar, Sergio Barroso on bass, and Wilson das Neves on drums, with contributions from several other instrumentalists, including flutists Meirelles and Copinha, saxophonist Paulo Moura, guitarists Neco and Maciel, trombonists Norato and Maurilio, and harmonica player Mauricio Einhorn.
