Os Mulheres Negras, which translates to "The Black Women" in Portuguese, is a Brazilian experimental rock duo formed in São Paulo in 1985. The group consists of musicians André Abujamra, who handles vocals, electric guitar, synthesizer, and drum machine, and Maurício Pereira, who provides vocals and plays the saxophone. They describe themselves as "the world's third smallest big band" and are recognized for their eclectic musical style, which features comedic, "cartoonish" lyrics and elaborate theatrical performances. This unique approach has garnered them a passionate cult following.
