Osamu Sato, born on April 14, 1960, in Kyoto, Japan, is a director of Out Side Directors Company, which he founded in 1989. His career has evolved from graphics to animation and further to music, culminating in his first game, “Tong-Nou” (1994), released as “Eastern Mind” in the United States. Sato is best known for "LSD: Dream Emulator," a title released exclusively in Japan. He continued to create games, music, and other art throughout the 1990s but largely paused his artistic pursuits until 2016, when he announced "All Things Must Be Equal," an exhibit at Beams, along with an album and book of the same name.
