Otis & Shugg is a US singing duo hailing from Oakland, CA, consisting of half brothers Otis Cooper and W. "Shugg" David. They grew up in the same neighborhood as Raphael Saadiq, who was introduced to their music through a demo tape. In 1995, they signed with Saadiq's label, Pookie Records, in partnership with Interscope. The duo released their debut single "Keep It On The Real" in 1995, followed by "Journey" in 1996. However, issues arose when Interscope changed its distribution, leading to Pookie's split with the label, which resulted in their album "We Can Do Whatever" remaining unissued until 2005.
