Outernational Meltdown is a unique musical project that emerged in October 1994, during the year of Democracy in South Africa. It was initiated by a collective of British and Brazilian artists who traveled to South Africa to collaborate with over 50 local musicians. Rather than being a conventional band, Outernational Meltdown represents an event or process of musical fusion, resulting in recordings that blend traditional Zulu songs with jazz and African rhythms alongside Latin percussion.
