P-Model is a post-punk/electronic band established in 1979, led by Susumu Hirasawa. The group quickly gained prominence in the underground music scene, remaining active until 1988 and releasing eight albums along with several remix albums. After a six-year hiatus, referred to as a 'freeze', they returned with a self-titled album, 'P-Model'. The band continued to produce music until their official breakup in 1999, culminating in a total of 13 studio albums. In 2004, Susumu Hirasawa released a solo album and has continued to release subsequent works, with the latest installment coming in 2018. Other members of P-Model, such as Kotobuki Hikaru and Yokogawa Tadahiko, have also pursued solo and group projects throughout their careers.
