P16.D4 was a German band known for their music that straddled the line between industrial and cacophonous sounds. Their debut album, "Kühe In 1/2 Trauer," released in 1984 by Selektion, showcased their ability to blend the playful irrationality of dadaism with the oppressive tones of expressionism. The band's founders, Roger Schönauer and Ewald Weber, emphasized an austere art style and techniques involving loop and tape manipulation. Stefan E. Schmidt later joined the group for their second release, "Distruct," also in 1984, which was a deconstructed remix of sound sources contributed by friends from the industrial scene. Their double album, "Nichts Niemand Nirgends Nie," released in 1986, explored musique concrete and electronic improvisation. In 1987, they released "Tionchor," a collection of revised rarities.
