Pahua is the project of Mexican singer, composer, and DJ Pau Sotomayor. From a young age, Pau developed a love for polyrhythm, drums, and folklore. Pahua's music features synthesizers, organic sounds, and powerful lyrical vocals, exploring various genres that blend Latin rhythms, Afro-Latin beats, alternative sounds, and electronic music. Pahua has released one LP, two original EPs, and two remix EPs. The project has collaborated with artists such as Gizmo Varillas (ESP), La Dame Blanche (CU), Barzo (CR), Terror/Cactus (AR), Acid Coco (COL), Paz Court (CHI), Karen y Los Remedios (MX), El Individuo (CU), NIKOLA (RD), Eva de Marce (MX), Fernando Milagros (CHI), and Venezonix (VEN). Additionally, Pahua's work has been remixed by international producers including Jitwam (UK), CERO39 (CO), Jiony (MX), Klik & Frik (ARG), Captain Planet, Prince of Queens, Clive From Accounts, Poirier, Tigerbalm, JKriv, and more. From March to August 2025, Pahua will release a new track each month as part of her upcoming album, "Cerca del Lugar," which is set to be released in September of this year.
