Painted Faces, originally known as the Dimension, was an Acid Punk, Psychedelic, and Garage band from Fort Myers, Florida. They rose to prominence as one of the top local bands in Florida during the mid to late 1960s and garnered a following in New York starting in 1967. The band signed with Manhattan Records and achieved a modest hit with their song "Anxious Color" that same year. Their name change to Painted Faces coincided with a performance in the Virgin Islands, where they began to embrace their new identity. Unfortunately, the band disbanded in 1968 as members were called up for military service.
