**Bio: Palais Schaumburg** Palais Schaumburg was an influential underground NDW (Neue Deutsche Welle) band from Hamburg, Germany, founded in 1979 and dissolved in 1984. The band emerged as a creative melting pot, particularly noted for their early singles and first album, and the members went on to have significant careers in various music genres. The founding members, inspired by the US avant-garde cult band, aimed to create a new style of avant-garde dance music that blended hard beats and funky riffs with dadaist lyrics. They named themselves after the German chancellor's residence, Palais Schaumburg, in Bonn. Their debut release, "Rote Lichter," came out in 1980 on an independent label and was followed by "Telephon / Kinder Der Tod," which gained a small underground success. In mid-1981, FM Einheit left to join an industrial avant-garde band and was replaced by Ralf Hertwig. Their self-titled first full-length album, "Palais Schaumburg," was released on a major label. After this release, Holger Hiller defected for a solo career. The band's second LP, "Lupa," released in 1982, marked a stylistic shift by incorporating horns and jazz fusion influences. Their final album, "Parlez-Vous Schaumburg?" released in 1984 and produced by the singer of Neonbabies/DÖF, introduced Latin and big band elements but failed
