Panchito Riset was a Cuban singer and musician, born in Havana, Cuba, on October 21, 1910. He was known for his high-pitched voice, characteristic of the Sonera tradition, and was an interpreter of boleros and other tropical genres. Riset followed an ingenious and classical interpretation of the bolero style that was prominent in the 1930s. He passed away in New York on August 8, 1988.
