Pankow are pioneers of Italian EBM/industrial music, formed in Florence in 1979. They began experimenting with electronic machines in 1981. The second singer has been the composer of all the lyrics from their first release, the EP on cassette in 1983, followed by their legendary first EP in 1984, continuing until 2007. Their first LP was released in 1987, produced by pankow-панков and others. In 1989, they released another album, also produced by pankow-панков. A live album came out in 1990, followed by another release in 1992, both produced by pankow-панков and others. The band split up in 1993 when Spalck moved to Australia. In 1996, they released their fifth LP with GB, produced by pankow-панков. In 2003, Alex Spalck returned, and they released an album in 2007. In 2013, they released another album with new front-man Bram Declercq, produced by pankow-панков. Pankow were the first Italian electronic band to gain wide success in Europe and the USA, touring 30 dates in the States at the beginning of the 90s. The band is currently active and based in Italy, Australia, and Belgium, with the heads of the band and the frontman singer, Enzo Regi.
